Mori Bar

Tokyo, Japan

Cocktail pilgrims head to Tokyo’s Mori Bar to try the famous Martini or to meet owner-bartender Takao Mori, an icon of Japanese bartending. Locals go there as much for the warmth of the hospitality as the quality of the drinks: the mood is more convivial than in most other bars in the ritzy Ginza neighborhood. The septuagenarian Mori appears only fleetingly at the bar these days, but his team, most of whom have been with him a decade or three, know how to deliver his style, recipes and sense of fun.
