The Terrible Prince

Wisors Hospitality Group was founded by Elie Nehme and Micky Abou Merhy in 2009 (with Camille Njeim joining later) with one goal in mind: to lead a culinary renaissance in Lebanon. And they set about doing just that, launching a string of restaurants and bars in Beirut (and in Paris). One of these was The Happy Prince, a crowd-pleasing burger and cocktail joint. However, following the tragic events of 4 August 2020, it closed permanently. That was until 2023, when it returned with a new name, The Terrible Prince, and a relocation to Monot Street. Much to the delight of former patrons, the signature cheeseburger and dry-aged Black Angus patty are back, alongside flame-cooked favourites such as scallops, red mullet and chicken, as well as steaks. As much a bar as it is a restaurant, the wine list is sizeable, with pours by the glass – while the bartender brings a twist to the classic ‘doodoo shot’, a Lebanese cocktail consisting of vodka, fresh lemon and hot sauce, finished with a pickled olive. Soak it up with picky bits from the tapas menu.
