Idam
Doha, Qatar
- No.44 Middle East & North Africa's 50 Best Restaurants 2026
Idam, meaning ‘generosity’ in Arabic, is Alain Ducasse’s first foray in the region. Set on the fifth floor of the Museum of Islamic Art, the dazzling Philippe Starck-designed dining room boasts a luxurious black carpet embellished with white calligraphy, bespoke lighting and Baccarat crystal, along with breath-taking views of the Doha skyline. The menu is a seamless interweaving of French and Arabic influence: the afternoon tea menu is a well-value approach to sampling savoury and sweet fare. Lobster roll finger sandwiches and gravlax toasts represent the opulence of Ducasse's cuisine, and tarts with local fruits like mango and passionfruit demonstrate the dexterity of the pastry section. For a full blow-out experience, opt for the ten course tasting for dinner.
