Situated in South Africa’s stunning Franschhoek Valley, La Motte is not only home to the finest of wines, it’s also an enchanting place for those who appreciate authentic Cape hospitality. Here they run their own artisan bakery and sell fragrance and body lotions made from home-grown lavender and geranium. Art is well patronised, with a free art exhibition and classical concert series (both run October 2025 to February 2026). Hikers can explore the Estate’s breathtaking views or meander around the gardens. Having explored everything, relax in their brasserie or purchase souvenirs from the farm shop. And don’t forget to taste the wines!
