Amazónico

Madrid, Spain

A funky-fun dining and drinking den where good-time gastronomy is the order of the day. Conceived by Sandro Silva, the inaugural Amazónico – now with outposts in London and Dubai – launched in 2016, and has since gained a legion of glamourous fans for its authentic cuisine and vibey atmosphere. From the decor to the menu, it’s a concept rooted in nature with a tropical frame of reference entrenched in the diversity of Latin American foodways. Following the route of the Amazon, the menu extends from Brazil to Nikkei (Peruvian-Japanese) and beyond, to Argentina, India and China. Amid abundant hanging greenery, diners are invited to feast on sophisticated sharing plates and elegant bites whipped up from the open kitchen and sushi bar. Espeto (whole fish cooked over wood fire). Picaña beef. Huelva carabinero prawns. Uramaki sushi with mango and cacao. You’ll not go wrong. Rainforest ingredients and South American spirits lead on the exciting bar list, too. Hang around in the evening and watch it morph into a jazz
