Rosewood Bangkok

Bangkok, Thailand

What’s not to love about this edgy display of contemporary luxury in Bangkok’s Lumphini district? A striking wonder of architectural excellence, it bridges a duo of skyscrapers straddling 30 storeys. Tearing up the rulebook, the distinctive structure is inspired by the Thai greeting wai – an immediate marker of welcome and friendship. Grand in scale, yet intimate in feel, the 158 residence-like rooms see sloping glass on three sides, while retro-leaning furnishings harbour a new-age ethos of refinement. Bridging the towers, a number include their own lofty, marble sky pools. Across the property – which includes a sleek pool, large spa and plenty of lounge areas – the attention to detail is unrivalled, with colour, covetable pieces of art and immersive sculptures from up-and-comers and established local artists encouraging eyes to flit like no other. Gloriously poised on the top floor, a funky vinyl shop leads on to mid-century style Lennon’s, a modern speakeasy serving vintage spirits and bonhomie like it’s going out of fashion. Elsewhere, Nan Bei is beloved by regulars for its authentic Chinese dishes and evocative gilded interior. Easy access to a city ripe for discovery is a given, but, honestly, it’s unlikely you’ll want to leave Rosewood Bangkok’s confines.
