Resplendent on the top floor of the Rosewood hotel, Lennon’s is more than just a hotel bar. Loosely based on a speakeasy, the inspiration here is that of a mid-century home recording studio. Enter through the Vinyl Shop, housing some 6,000 records (ask the DJ to spin any you fancy, or buy to take home), before stepping into a scene straight from the brush stokes of a Great Gatsby cover. All floor-to-ceiling sloping glass, a spiral staircase slinks up to a cigar lounge, while two matchy-matchy deco lounges flank the main bar. The drinks are as a good as you’ll get anywhere, with rare whiskies, tempting Thai cocktails and signatures named after well-known songs – Ricky Martin’s Maria features tequila, spiced apple shrub, lemon and Mancino Bianco; Fly Me To The Moon is a whisky-forward Negroni. A retro bar with a new-age mantra, the classics here are mixed using rare vintage spirits, some dating back to 1970s.
