Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas
Phuket, Thailand
The global set-jetting trend is still going strong, with the fourth season of The White Lotus generating plenty of buzz for Anantara’s tropical property in Phuket. While it may have the HBO series to thank for raising its profile, there’s a reason it was chosen for filming in the first place. Located on the island’s northern tip, the Bill Bensley-designed resort is shaped by its natural scenery – with surroundings including Phuket’s longest beach and the Sirinat National Park. Its 80 suites and pool villas are tucked around a lotus-filled lagoon and lush tropical gardens – decked out in dark teak, white linens and botanical-like murals – while suites include princess or pirate-themed decor. Guests can alternate their meals at four restaurants, but noteworthy is the theatrical open-fire cooking experience at Sea Fire Salt, while the Vayu bar delivers scene-stealing sunsets. As portrayed in the TV series, the spa’s treatment rooms are dotted around the lagoon, while further wellness facilities include a Muay Thai boxing ring and Anantara’s very own IV drip bar.
