An export from London, Scalini does in Dubai what it's been doing for three decades in Mayfair in London: well-executed Italian classics. Set on the lower-ground level of the Four Seasons Resort, the blue-and-white-striped dining room is cool and inviting, and an alfresco terrace dotted with lemon trees somehow defies local temperatures to remain breezy. Charismatic chefs prepare many of the dishes in front of diners, with all the usuals you expect and love. On arrival, diners are given fresh focaccia and nibbles, but don't fill up too much before tackling the pasta menu, all of which is freshly made in-house. Highlights on the menu include grilled branzino (sea bass) with mussels and clams, and lobster spaghetti. Don't skip dessert either – you need the signature tiramisu and the substantial bowl of pistachio gelato. The team is friendly and welcoming and will gladly offer personal recommendations.
