London's Savoy is a major site in global cocktail history, but it's usually the American Bar hogging the limelight (understandably given its permanent high ranking in The World's 50 Best Bars list). The hotel's second bar is no ugly duckling, though, in fact it's a jaw-droppingly gorgeous art-deco space, sat on the location of the hotel's old cabaret stage. The ‘Music, Magic and Drama’ drinks menu – designed by assistant bar manager Joe Harper and head bartender Elon Soddu – tips a nod to that theatrical history and was inspired by the three founders of The Savoy Theatre: dramatist WS Gilbert, composer Arthur Sullivan and hotelier Richard D’Oyly Carte.
