This neighbourhood wine bar on Hackney Road was refurbished beautifully by owner Michael Sager, creating a bar top from old London paving stones and putting in huge windows that flood the venue with light. Championing great wines by the glass, as well as a litany of the very best in modern winemaking by the bottle, the bar is generally packed with Londoners sipping on anything from pét nats to pinots. Cocktails play a small role here but come into their own at Sager’s sister venue down the road where Marcis Dzelzainis has pushed ingenious flavour combinations.
