A refreshing antidote to the sea of college bars that define Downtown Austin’s 6th street district, Here Nor There is a somewhat otherworldly basement speakeasy located beneath an alleyway next to the historic Driskill Hotel. Inside, the atmosphere is marked by exposed brick, dim lights, and cosy nooks and crannies to disappear into with friends. Rotating high-concept menus have covered themes of colours, odyssey and global exploration, putting a spotlight on prep-intensive flavour combinations. When the speakeasy opened in 2018 it was a members-only club, but reservations are now available via the website where a secret code is given for entry upon confirmation. Thanks to its intimate settings and thought-provoking cocktails, Here Nor There is an excellent option to escape the bustle of the city, or an intimate spot for date night.
