Set in a space once occupied by Marilyn Monroe's talent agency, Bar Next Door is a much-loved neighbourhood bar on LA’s Sunset Strip. Dimly lit with leather booths, dark tile and a vintage vinyl soundsystem, the bar trades the area’s polish for something more lived-in. A newspaper-themed menu dedicates equal parts to the Strip’s rock and roll history as to its spirits selection. Signature drinks are named after local landmarks: a clarified paloma rosé spritz nods to the Beverly Hills Hotel, a pisco-passion fruit riffs on the Viper Room, and drinks are priced fairly, too. A vast range of alcohol-free gin cocktails is also available, alongside a selection of Mexican soft drinks. There is no snack menu, though plenty of pizza places are within throwing distance.
