Cafe La Trova is a joint with some serious pedigree. Coming in at No.70 in The World's 50 Best Bars 2020, the operation is headed up by the legend that is Julio Cabrera, also known as the godfather of modern Cuban Cantinero-style bartending, and the kitchen by James Beard-winning chef Michelle Bernstein. There's live music seven nights a week, plus a daily happy hour, with a choice of cocktails priced at $7, matched with some keenly-priced bar snacks. The main cocktail menu is a mix of Cuban classics like Daiquiris (classic and frozen banana) alongside some original drinks, like the El Guayabero, which blends reposado tequila, guava marmalade, cayenne-agave syrup and lime.
