Champagne Bar at The Surf Club
Miami, US
The Surf Club is a Miami institution that first opened in 1930 (in the middle of Prohibition), known for a glamorous stream of clientele that included Frank Sinatra, Winston Churchill, Elizabeth Taylor and Tennessee Williams, to name a few. After a 2013 renovation, the building is now home of the Four Seasons hotel, but its Champagne Bar, which has also made quite the international name for itself over the years, remains one of the jewels of the city’s bar scene. Located on the ground level of the hotel and adjacent to the lobby, the Cathedral-like space is decorated with chic furniture and an assortment of lanky palm trees that bring tropical panache to the church-like environs. Mouthwatering cocktails, rare and vintage spirits pours and flights, and a thoughtful cigar collection make up the bulk of the menu, in addition to one of the city’s best collections of Champagne, of course.
