Coqodaq

New York, US

This Flatiron address became the talk of New York when it opened in 2024, elevating humble, Korean-style fried chicken into destination dining. A few years on, and it’s still one of the city’s hottest tables, proving founder Simon Kim’s original hunch (‘everyone loves fried chicken’). Here, though, the humble nugget’s taken to a whole new level, coated in rice flour for optimum crunch and – should you be so inclined – topped with caviar or truffles. The dining room’s suitably decadent, framed by glass and bronze arches, while the 400-strong list of champagnes is the longest in the country. While it’s easy to rack up a sizeable bill, it’s not obligatory, with a generous (though caviar-free) set menu that starts with a ginseng-spiked consommé and ends with a seasonal soft-serve. Reservations open two weeks ahead: be at the ready, as prime evening slots are soon snapped up.
