This casual eatery’s tagline is ‘food you love to eat’ and it delivers on this statement in spades. Chef Omar Rodriguez refuses to conform to a specific genre or style, instead drawing on his experience of cooking at some of America’s punchiest restaurants: French legend Alain Ducasse at Essex House, Peruvian Limon and Korean hotshot Momofuku. His menus demonstrate influences from all of the above as well as his own personal brand of big-flavour, low-fuss stardust. Think zingy snapper ceviche, decadent brisket cooked over low heat for hours and fried chicken waffles crowned with caviar. The setting itself is equally well-executed: service is smart yet informal and the living walls and garden-inspired furniture create the feeling of a secret courtyard – despite enjoying a prime location inside Mercato Mall.
