- No.7 MENA's 50 Best Restaurants 2026
Palestinian chef-owner Salam Dakkak's recipe for success is combining authentic Levantine food with warm hospitality. It's a combination that saw her first restaurant Bait Maryam in Dubai become hugely popular, very quickly; so much so, she opened a second, Sufret Maryam, in Jumeirah's Wasl 51. See it as the bigger sister, where the menu is a little more finessed than the rustic home-cooking at the original. That said, it is still very much based around nostalgia and long-cherished recipes (the restaurant's name means 'Maryam's table', Maryam being Dakkak's mother), but made with the contemporary diner in mind. The room is capacious-yet-cosy, filled with comfy sofas, artwork and a marble bar down one side of the room, which knocks up a delicious fresh fruit juice. Cold and hot mezze, salads, falafel, mixed grills, kebabs... it's all here. The labneh brûlée, a tangy twist on the original with sumac and za'atar, is the talk of the town.
