The most beautiful vineyards for wedding celebrations and beyond

If you love wine and want a wedding to remember, then why not combine the two by saying 'I do' in a vineyard.

There's something undeniably romantic about wine and the alchemy behind each glass. As Italian polymath Galileo eloquently put it, "wine is sunlight held together by water". The prospect of getting married in a vineyard taps into wine's ineffable magic, and it helps that grapes happen to be grown in some of the prettiest parts of the world. As well as fine wine on demand, stunning scenery and breathtaking views, a vineyard wedding connects you directly to the land and those who have tended to it for generations.

If you're keen to live out your A Walk in the Clouds fantasies, then consider tying the knot in one of these eight scenic spots. From a fairy-tale château in Bordeaux to an English vineyard nestled within Grade I listed grounds, these wineries promise to deliver cinematic levels of beauty and the chance for plenty of pre-and-post-wedding activities, from night-before barbecues and farewell brunches to private tours and tastings.

VIK, Millahue

The World's Best Vineyard 2025 also happens to be a great place to get hitched. The expansive avant-garde estate in Chile's lush Millahue Valley offers bespoke wedding experiences, from intimate ceremonies to multi-day destination weddings. Every celebration is tailored and can include exclusive use of the hotel's 27 luxury suites and access to selected areas of the estate, allowing for ultimate privacy. Hosting weddings, vow renewals and proposal ceremonies against a backdrop of panoramic valley views, guests can enjoy cocktails at sunset, top notch food paired with VIK wines, private tastings and tours and post-wedding brunches, while VIK will arrange everything from the flowers to the photography. The estate also offers buyouts for milestone celebrations, private dinners and corporate events.

Don't miss: The chance to stay in one of VIK's 15 glass-fronted bungalows.

Château Pape-Clément, Bordeaux

If you want to fulfil an ultimate romantic dream, complete with fairy-tale turrets, manicured lawns and neo-gothic balustrades, then the Old World charm of Grand Cru Classé estate Château Pape-Clément might just be your dream wedding destination. Set within 60 hectares of vineyards in Bordeaux's Graves sub-region, the whole estate can be hired out for your big day, allowing you to say 'I do' in style. The wedding party can take over the château, creating a seamless experience from suiting up and dress fitting, to dancing after midnight. The reception can take place in the glass-fronted orangery or the paved courtyard decked out with trellis tables and string lights. Either way, you're in for a treat.

Don't miss: The Gustav Eiffel-inspired glass ceiling in the Pavillon du Prélat.

Maysara Winery, Willamette Valley

Nestled among the rolling hills of the Momtazi Vineyard in Oregon's Willamette Valley, Maysara specialises in intimate weddings rooted in warm hospitality. The family-owned biodynamic estate hosts ceremonies on the lawn overlooking the vines followed by receptions within the fairy light-filled stone and timber winery. Retaining its hidden gem feel, Maysara has various indoor and outdoor event spaces where the wedding party can roam and sip their way through the wine range, as well as take in the vineyard's spectacular views. You can also hire out the estate for private dinners, bridal or baby showers, birthdays and corporate parties, though not during harvest (mid-September to the end of November), when it's all hands on deck.

Don't miss: The sun setting over the vines, preferably with a glass of fizz in hand.

Bodega Garzón, Maldonado

Uruguay's flagship winery, Bodega Garzón in Maldonado, close to the fashionable fishing village of José Ignacio, is a scenic spot for a destination wedding. Not only does it boast incomparable views of the natural surroundings, it's also home to meat maestro Francis Mallmann's Fire Stations restaurant, where you can host the mother of all receptions and witness open fire cooking at its finest. After tying the knot amid the vines, head to the terrace for a glass of Garzón Extra Brut, then venture inside to feast on giant juicy rib-eyes slathered in Dijon mustard. With each event custom tailored to guests' wants and needs, it's also an ideal spot for cocktail parties, private banquets, milestone celebrations, and team building away days.

Don't miss: The chance to try Argentine legend Francis Mallmann's cuisine.

Leonardslee Family Vineyards, West Sussex

If gorgeous gardens are your thing, then consider hosting the big day at West Sussex gem Leonardslee Family Vineyards, set within stunning Grade I listed grounds. Betrothed couples can choose between Leonardslee Wine Estate, home to the 17th century Vineyard Hotel, where you can say your vows overlooking the vines then enjoy flutes of Leonardslee's fizz on the terrace, or the lakeside setting of Leonardslee House, which boasts an Italianate manor, destination restaurant Interlude and enchanting woodland gardens. Themed weddings, from medieval banquets to roaring twenties-inspired nuptials, can be catered for, and the Engine House can be booked for private events including children's parties and corporate away days.

Don't miss: Getting a round of golf in before the celebrations begin at its on-site golf course.

Abadia Retuerta, Ribera del Duero

For guaranteed sunshine and a warm Spanish welcome, Abadia Retuerta, a soaring 12th century Romanesque abbey in Ribera del Duero, is perfectly poised to deliver a dreamy wedding. High rollers can buy out its five-star, 30-room hotel, LeDomaine, in its entirety, giving you exclusive access to everything the estate has to offer, from its neoclassical sacristy to its picturesque cloister garden. Each of the 30 rooms have sweeping vineyard views and benefit from a 24-hour butler service. Wedding parties need to book for a three-night minimum, and during their stay can make the most of the hotel's spa in the former stables, (try the citrus immersion), and Michelin-starred restaurant Refectorio, which shines a light on local ingredients.

Don't miss: Consulting with the in-house spa sommelier on bespoke treatments.

Castello Banfi, Tuscany

It doesn't get much more romantic than tying the knot in Tuscany, and Castello Banfi's Il Borgo on the southern slopes of Brunello di Montalcino is perfectly placed to deliver a day to remember. Couples who want to live out their fairy-tale fantasies can hire out the imposing castle building, home to 14 luxury suites, giving them free rein over the estate. After exchanging vows in the fountain garden, you can enjoy a classic al fresco Italian reception at La Piazzeta or La Terrazza overlooking the castle walls. Various rooms within the castle can also be hired out for private parties and corporate events.

Don't miss: A walk through the rose garden, home to spellbinding views over the vines.

Aperture Cellars, Sonoma

While you can't actually get married at Aperture Cellars, you can throw one hell of a party afterwards at the cutting-edge Sonoma vineyard, which hosts wedding receptions for 120 revellers and rehearsal dinners for up to 100 guests, who are free to roam between the Vineyard Terrace and the indoor Gallery Lounge. Expect highly tailored hospitality, including curated menus with local culinary partners. They'll even erect a custom-built tent for you if that's your vibe. For those with a major milestone to mark, Aperture will take care of all of the details, hosting al fresco private parties and dinners on its terrace with bespoke menus, wines, and even decor.

Don't miss: The chance to gain exclusive access to Aperture's sought-after wine library.
