Luxury hotels are amping up their music offerings – from crafting immersive listening suites to hosting private live performances.
When it comes to music in hotels, the bar has moved beyond calming elevator playlists and laidback lobby tracks, soundscapes now extend across every touchpoint. Inspired by the trend of listening bars, a new wave of luxury hotels is taking sound seriously, transforming rooms and suites into immersive sensory settings, engineered for high-quality acoustics and all-important soundproofing. It's not just a question of design, though. Guests are also encouraged to pick up skills during their stay, learning guitar riffs from the comfort of their room or jamming out to vinyl on retro record players. Whether you're a dedicated audiophile or simply appreciate a great soundtrack, these hotels prove the music can be as important as the destination itself.
Il Sereno Lago di Como, Lake Como 
The ultra-luxe Il Sereno claims to feature the world's first suite "built entirely around the art of listening". Introduced in 2025, the Darsena Listening Suite was driven by hotel owner Luis Contrera's passion for music, with designer Patricia Urquiola enlisted to transform the 200 square-metre lakefront suite into an audiophile-focused setting. For AV geeks, the space is outfitted with top-of-the-range analogue equipment, including Klipsch La Scala II speakers, McIntosh amps, a Thorens 1601 turntable and a restored Revox reel-to-reel deck. For anyone less tuned in, the suite is also stocked with a 500-strong collection of records. Guests can request an album in advance to create the perfect soundtrack to their stay while also contributing to the ever-growing library. To top it all off, the suite features a private deck with direct access to Lake Como.
Le Royal Monceau Raffles, Paris
When acclaimed designer Philippe Starck renovated this palatial property back in 2010, he injected a dose of rhythm into the guest experience. Every room and suite is furnished with an acoustic guitar, with guests encouraged to create their own riffs against an inspiring Parisian backdrop. Jazz fans should book into the Ray Charles Suite 714, which pays tribute to the late American composer who regularly frequented the hotel. Follow in his footsteps and hone your talent on the suite's Pleyel grand piano.
One&Only One Za'abeel, Dubai
This One&Only skyscraper near the emirate's DIFC elevates its lofty accommodations to new heights with a series of specialised suites. Among these is the Creative Suite, an open-plan, 121 square-metre space filled with high-end AV equipment, Klipsch speakers, an electric guitar and floor-to-ceiling views of the glittering skyline to spark creativity. Acoustic wall panelling ensures the sound is at its very best, and you don't need to fret about disturbing your neighbours thanks to solid soundproofing.
Patina Osaka 
Japan is widely celebrated as the home of hi-fi experiences, so it makes perfect sense that Patina Osaka has created a sanctuary of sound. Designed in partnership with Brooklyn-based artist and audiophile Devon Turnbull (also known as Ojas), The Listening Room by Ojas is outfitted with handcrafted, custom-built speakers, a curated vinyl selection and calming Japanese minimalist design. Guests can kickstart their day with bespoke morning soundscapes from 6am until 10.30am – or book the entire place for a private session. The Patina Suite on the top floor also comes with a turntable and hi-fi sound system.
The Elizabeth Hotel, Autograph Collection, Colorado
This hotel in Fort Collins allows guests to tap into their musical spirit via its Instrument Lending Library, which loans out guitars, ukuleles and keyboards as well as in-ear amplifiers, headphones, tuners and straps. If you're lucky, you can even get your hands on the acoustic guitar played by Eric Clapton during his MTV Unplugged performance. The hotel also has a Vinyl Lending Library so you can spin records back in your room – just make sure you return the goods at check-out. The hotel's Music Suite takes things up a notch with black and white furniture to match the baby grand piano.
Sofitel London St James
The luxury Sofitel brand might have French roots, but its London property channels 1970s Britain in one of its signature suites. Designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon, the Suite 70 is washed in orange tones, retro wallpaper and album covers reflecting a watershed decade in British music. Aside from showcasing memorabilia, the suite also has a vintage saxophone, and guests can groove to the sound of the seventies with a visit to the Experience Bar: a musicians' trunk refashioned as a vinyl library.
Hotel de Russie, Rome
Rocco Forte Hotels takes a different approach, partnering with theatres and opera houses across Europe to deliver musicians right to your door. The hotel launched a Musical Room Service in 2025, whereby performers serenade guests in the comfort of their plush rooms. At Hotel de Russie, the Picasso Suite sets the stage for an operatic performance, which echoes across the equally theatrical Piazza del Popolo on the hotel's doorstep.
