When Patrice Demers and Marie-Josée Beaudoin opened their 14-seater restaurant in the relaxed Montreal neighbourhood of Pointe-Saint-Charles in 2023, they were looking to foster connection and creativity over scale. It wasn’t long before they attracted attention, though, and now slots for their six-course tasting menu – served Thursday through Saturday evenings – are as hotly coveted as Montreal’s famed wood-fired bagels. The menu is always a surprise, shifting with the seasons and logistics of sourcing, but vegetables are typically given a starring role alongside fish and seafood; where possible, sourced from Quebec. In keeping with their neighbourhood vibe they also open Friday and Saturday afternoons, operating a ‘Tea Time’ option that features three sweet courses from Patrice paired with three different teas selected by Marie-Josée. Fabulous food, intimate service and a friendly price point means you might find yourself yearning to return again and again.
