Hija de Sanchez

Copenhagen, Denmark

An easy going, design-forward Nordhavn restaurant majoring in elevated Mexican street-food favourites. It’s a follow-on from upscale city dining room Sanchez – from an ex-Noma chef known for her skilful marrying of heritage Mexican produce with fine-dining technique and local ingredients. The industrial, moody space – limewash paintwork, plenty of greenery, clever architecture and textured wall hangings – sets a tone for long lunches with friends over Palomas, and laid-back yet intimate suppers à deux. Gracing the table are the likes of slow-cooked achiote pork tacos, vibrant chipotle mussels in a creamy sauce and octopus tostadas with cured egg yolk and habanero salsa. Delicate, detailed presentation showcases chef Rosio Sanchez’s tenure on the pastry pass. To that end, save room for the chilli chocolate mousse. Special mention goes to the take-out hatch that's on hand for discerning diners on the move.
