L'Abysse

Paris, France

When L'Abysse opened in 2018 it was the culmination of chef Yannick Alléno's lifelong obsession with Japanese cuisine. The 12-seat sushi counter, located at the same venue as World’s 50 Best regular Alléno Paris au Pavillon Ledoyen, picked up a Michelin star after just six months. Yasunari Okazaki best showcases his nigiris through the multi-course omakase menu, but if you want to keep proceedings below $300 you can pick and choose from individual sushi of golden eye snapper, sea cucumber, red mullet, wagyu and much more for between $10 and $40 a bite.
