Le Bon Georges
Paris, France
Since opening its doors in 2014, Le Bon Georges has established itself as, quite simply, one of the best bistros in Paris. For owner Benoît Duval Arnould, a former agricultural engineer and forever lover of good food and wine, Le Bon Georges is “the restaurant of his dreams”, with interiors chosen by him and a menu that celebrates French produce and cuisine. Chef Loïc Lobet’s dishes are scribbled out the traditional way on a black chalkboard and include seasonally changing French favourites such as eggs mayonnaise, pâté en croûte, steak tartare, entrecôte and so on, that vary according to local producers and seasons. The crowd-pleasing desserts such as crème brulée and seasonal fruits served with heaps of vanilla whipped cream are generous enought for two. To complement the hearty food there’s an impressive 2,000-strong wine list and eight sommeliers on hand to guide you through every region of French terroir, whether you're looking for small estates or big-name chateaus.
