Showcasing authentic Cantonese cuisine in the opulent setting of the Shangri-La Hotel, Shang Palace has the distinction of being France’s only Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant. On exiting the elevator, guests find themselves in a sumptuous interior featuring jade columns, marble tables, ornate screens and extravagant crystal chandeliers. Head chef Samuel Lee Sum and his talented brigade are responsible for a vast number of meticulously crafted dishes, from delicate dim sum to a whole fresh turbot, steamed, Hong Kong-style. Lee’s interpretation of fried rice – made with honey pork and an abundance of silky egg strands – is not to be missed.
