Enjoy some of the finest cuisine the German capital has to offer in the relaxed surroundings of the Mandala Hotel. The fifth-floor restaurant bills itself as an oasis, and it's true that, with its huge windows, retractable glass ceiling and clever landscaping with the trees illuminated at dusk, it feels a world away from the bustle of the city. But it's the food at this impressive spot that really raises the roof. Chef Michael Kempf takes inspiration from his home country and as far afield as the Americas and Asia. Come for lunch or dinner, where the set menu comes in five, six, seven or eight courses. Look out for wagyu short rib with asparagus and medlar; soup of pea and buttermilk with feta and smoked almonds; or langoustine with broccoli, algae and Earl Grey tea.
