Salt

Budapest, Hungary

Salt offers a Hungarian take on principles we might more commonly associate more with Nordic fine dining, and makes them entirely its own. Chef Szilárd Tóth is a man committed to foraging, pickling and fermenting, using this rural bounty to form the foundation of his Michelin-Starred menu, plus dishes are often served to guests by Tóth himself and the selection of wines overseen by Restaurant Manager Máté Boldizsár are largely natural and/or organic. The charming dining room is set within a boutique hotel, is decorated with stripped wood and surrounded by elegant arched windows with the open kitchen a focal point. The menu extends to 14 courses, and can be paired with either exclusively Hungarian wines, or with a selection of international bottles, taken from the restaurant's 180-bin wine list.
