Set in affluent Las Lomas, this upscale taquería does a roaring trade. With no reservations, the wait can be up to an hour, but the payoff is some of the city’s most talked-about tacos. Once you’re in, service is fast and friendly, the music’s turned up loud, and salsas and hand-cut crisps (on the house) get the feasting underway. If prices are high by local standards, so’s the quality, with tacos topped with suckling pig, a tangle of truffled mushrooms, or Black Angus picanha and sirloin, seared on a trompo spit. Regulars favour the rib-eye taco, with grass-green avocado salsa, or, for something lighter, the spicy tuna tostada. For dessert, share a slice of the luscious tres leches cake, scattered with strawberries and meringue, then surrender your spot to the next hopefuls waiting in line.
