Siete
Lima, Peru
Set on a beautiful street in bohemian Barranco, Siete is the first restaurant from chef Ricardo Martins, who trained under prolific Lima restaurateur Rafael Osterling. To a meticulously curated soundtrack of anything from rock to jazz, Martins serves up creative modern Mediterranean-influenced dishes with a touch of Asia, such as catch-of-the-day ceviche with corn and grilled octopus tamale or deep-fried fish sashimi with ponzu, sambal and lime. There's an excellent selection of fresh pasta, such as cacio e pepe and ravioli with almond pesto, and desserts might include the signature oozing cheesecake (not to be missed). All comes served in a series of stunning, high-ceilinged rooms in a century-old wood-panelled house. Siete attracts a young foodie crowd for its exquisite sharing plates and old-school cocktails, which are off the charts – try an oak-aged negroni to kick off your evening in style.
