Chef Zor Tan has a serious fine dining pedigree. After serving under the renowned André Chiang at three of his lauded restaurants across Taiwan and further afield, Tan founded Born as his first solo venture in July 2022. Within the restaurant’s light and airy dining room, adorned with a free-flowing sculpture suspended from its ceiling, Tan serves dishes pulled from the chapters of his life that shaped his gastronomic identity. Across its inventive tasting menu, expect accents of French, Sichuanese and Singaporean cooking among others within the multitude of meticulously decorated courses. His selection of snacks, which transform the memories of his parents’ food stall into bites fit for fine dining, feature the likes of chicken skin mille-feuille layered with aubergine puree and are elegant and masterful tributes to his past.
