A family restaurant with history, La Tasquita de Enfrente is co-owned by highly-acclaimed chefs Nacho Trujilo and Juanjo López, who took over the kitchen from his father more than 20 years ago. Initially serving traditional Madrilenian dishes such as tripe and fried potatoes, the restaurant has evolved under chef López. It may be small – there are only eight tables, seating no more than 30 diners at any one time – but it's long been big news on the Madrid restaurant scene. The menu changes frequently and the kitchen team takes pride in serving seasonal market produce that is 100 percent Spanish. Order from an a la carte menu with entrées of jamón croquettes or pork ear terrine and mains such as hake cheeks, or take the nine or 11-course tasting menu for a more complete experience.
