Operakallaren

Stockholm, Sweden

Its setting more like a scene from a Dutch old master painting than a contemporary Swedish fine-diner, Operakallaren resides within Stockholm’s grand Opera House in a palatial dining room awash with carved oak-panelled walls, glittering chandeliers and crystalware. Chef Viktor Westerlind (ex-F12, Frantzén and Aira) is responsible for two tasting menus – the Opera and Le Grand – and an à la carte, all of which showcase fine Nordic produce in light, exquisitely presented Gallic-leaning dishes that arrive on an array of delicately patterned china plates. The Nobiskällaren wine cellar at Operakällaren is one of the country’s best-stocked, with approximately 2,500 labels that represent some of the world’s most respected producers, with unique vintage verticals not found anywhere else on the planet. And did we mention the in-house pastry shop?
