This Mayfair newbie – and 2018’s hottest ticket – marked the welcome return of top chef Ollie Dabbous. A refuge from the city’s brouhaha, Scandi-luxe interiors offer a hearth-like backdrop to comforting modern British cuisine. Split across three levels and concepts – fine dining Above, laid-back Ground and cocktail bar Below – a curvaceous wooden staircase and an emphasis on quality ingredients unifies the space. Small producers and clever pairings dictate the menus, highlights of which include Herdwick lamb with smoked cockles, baked turnip and nasturtium dressing and Porthilly oysters with caviar. Elsewhere, co-owner Yevgeny Chichvarkin – also of Hedonism Wines – ensures a standout drinks list.
