A lavish Mayfair branch of the eponymous global Russian restaurant group, Novikov is a place to see and be seen. Separate Italian and Asian dining rooms offer extensive options from dim sum to sushi and pasta to steak, all at premium price points thanks to the prevalence of flashy ingredients such as truffle, lobster and wagyu and caviar. This is food to be shared, and Instagrammed. On the Asian side, hosts impress with opulent sashimi platters, king crab legs and even Peking duck pancakes with caviar, while on the Italian side there are showy dishes such as tonnarelli served in a wheel of Parmesan. But the food is just the beginning – Novikov opens to the well-heeled party crowd until the early hours in the downstairs Lounge Bar.
