Clemente Bar
New York, US
- No.11 North America's 50 Best Bars 2025
Perched above Eleven Madison Park, Clemente Bar is chef Daniel Humm and painter Francesco Clemente’s combined ode to art and gastronomy. Deep burgundy tones, walnut panels and sculptural lighting frame Clemente’s ethereal murals, a nod to Zurich’s legendary Kronenhalle Bar. The menu takes a refreshing turn from tradition with its seasonal, plant-based cocktails. The signature Clemente Martini, dressed with green curry–infused olive oil and saffron, is a must, while the Koji Café – a cherry rum number topped with fermented koji and raspberry creams – reimagines the espresso martini with flair. A playful selection of sweet and savoury bites, from crispy agedashi tofu hot dogs to hazelnut chocolate mousse, ensures no one leaves hungry. For a deeper experience, book a seat at the Studio: an intimate tasting for nine featuring five cocktails or mocktails with paired bar bites over 90 minutes. Drawing on regional ingredients and the spirit of a Japanese izakaya, dishes might include asparagus and snow pea soba followed by skewered maitake with juniper berries.
