Before transforming into one of New York's most beautiful underground bars – the historic space is located underneath 23rd street near the Flatiron Building – this pre-war cellar played host to a speakeasy and gambling den in the 1920s. The elegant bar might have a historic past, but the drinks selection looks to the future. Mixologist Samy Berdai brings an experienceed resume to the table, curating a menu that's laced with exciting avant-garde techniques and technologies and supported by captivating presentations that critics have called "sippable art." Unexpected drinking vessels, transportive aromas and smokes and interactive garnishes – most of which involve a botanical element – make for a memorable drinking experience. A la carte cocktails are available for walk-ins; the prix-fixe food and drink pairing menu is reservation only.
