Tatiana is part of New York's Lincoln Center, a performing arts complex that's also home to the New York Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera and the New York City Ballet – and, much like its esteemed neighbours, it certainly knows how to put on a show. Dark, buzzing and music-heavy, it's more akin to a nightclub than a traditional fine-dining restaurant, but that doesn't mean its food is any less exquisite. Expect a mix of nostalgic West African, Afro-Caribbean and New York deli flavours, executed to perfection and presented as a selection of mix-and-match sharing plates. Signature dishes include curried goat patties, braised oxtails with rice and peas, and short rib pastrami suya: wagyu short rib seasoned with Nigerian spices, then cured and cooked like pastrami. It's notoriously difficult to book, but it's a one-of-a-kind, only-in-New-York experience that'll you'll remember forever – so if you get the chance to go, take it.
