Torrisi
New York, US
There’s nothing more compelling than an Italian restaurant done right in Manhattan’s Little Italy, and Torrisi – in the historic Puck Building – fits the bill just perfectly. Named after chef Rich Torrisi of the Major Food Group (Carbone, The Grill, The Pool), the dynamically designed restaurant features two dining rooms in addition to a long bar in the front. The food is just as fresh and exciting as the atmosphere, with chef Torrisi showing his playful side as he dollops quirky experiments into traditional dishes, such as the cavatelli with Jamaican beef ragu and penne with chanterelles. The wine list features primarily French and Italian reds and whites by the bottle, and, as is the case with other MFG concepts, every aspect of service is polished to the level of performance, with no detail overlooked.
