Naro

New York, US

After putting Korean food into New York City’s orbit, Jeongeun “Ellia” Park and Junghyun “JP” Park opened Naro, a moonbase styled restaurant named after South Korea’s first carrier rocket. The Rockefeller Center hotspot occupies the space between the couple’s casual Atoboy (50 Best Discovery) and their fine dining destination Atomix, named The Best Restaurant in North America at The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023.

However, while the sister restaurants focus on reimagining Korean cuisine, Naro marks a return to the classics. Executive Chef Nate Kuester and Pastry Chef Celia Lee deliver the elegant, layered flavours of traditional Hansik-style Korean cooking. Signatures like baps and bulgogi are served as part of a tasting menu in the dining room or a la carte at the bar and lower-ground floor terrace. While the old style is new to many, the Parks’ embrace of vibrant, Korean flavors is a time-tested delight.
