Chefs from Asia, Europe and South America come together for a series of unique dinners in Macao

The Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2019 celebrations, taking place in Macao on 25 and 26 March, will celebrate the diversity and variety of Asia’s culinary scene, highlighting its array of cuisines, techniques and indigenous ingredients. As part of the programme of events, a series of dinners bringing together culinary talents from different parts of Asia and the world is set to take place at Wynn Resorts. Saturday 23 March – SW Steakhouse, Wynn Palace

Simon Rogan, the British chef behind Aulis and Roganic in Hong Kong, as well as restaurants including L’Enclume in the UK, is set to collaborate with Vicky Lau of Tate Dining Room – a former Asia’s Best Female Chef – for an evening of European dishes with Chinese influences.

Sunday 24 March – Wing Lei Palace, Wynn Palace

Tam Kwok Fung is the former chef of celebrated Cantonese restaurant Jade Dragon who took the helm of Wing Lei Palace restaurant in November 2018. Fung will collaborate with Shinobu Namae of L’Effervescence in Tokyo, Japan, the recipient of the Sustainable Restaurant Award at Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2018. With a shared focus on hyper-fresh and seasonal ingredients, the two chefs will present a feast of authentic Chinese and French-Japanese cuisine.

Monday 25 March – Ristorante Il Teatro, Wynn Macau

Hailing from Catalonia in Spain, Fran Agudo is the head chef of Tickets, Albert Adrià’s flagship restaurant in Barcelona and No.32 on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2018 list. Agudo will bring Tickets’ unique style of cutting-edge tapas to Macao for an evening that will feature small plates, trailblazing techniques and the restaurant’s signature fun atmosphere.

Tuesday 26 March – Mizumi, Wynn Palace

Four of the most respected chefs in Japan will share a kitchen for this unique eight-hands lunch. The culinary talents behind Den (No.2 in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2018), Florilège (No.3), La Cime (No.17) and La Maison de la Nature Goh (No.48) will bring the best of French-Japanese cuisines to Mizumi, highlighting kaiseki cuisine and Japanese products.

Wednesday 27 March – Mizumi at Wynn Palace

Fresh from leading his restaurant Boragó in Santiago, Chile, to win the Sustainable Restaurant Award at Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2018, Guzmán will present his country’s cooking techniques and diverse ingredients from its seas, forests, valleys and mountains, creating a true South American experience in Macao.
