MARTi

Buenos Aires, Argentina

MARTi is the epitome of cool - in fact, if it didn't have the goods to back it up, it would be bordering on too cool for school. In a routine familiar to speakeasy afficionados, there's no signage, just an unmarked door and an intercom. Press the button and provide proof of your reservation and you'll be admitted to this painfully chic glass box of a dining room surrounded by greenery and with seating made up entirely of leather stools centred around the open kitchen. As for the food? We're talking vegetarian tasting menus (maybe the foliage is meant to give you a hint) plus an excellent brunch. The precision of the cooking on display speaks to chef Germán Martitegui's pedigree, as owner of the city's legendary meat restaurant Tegui - a regular face on national and international TV and previous winner of the World's 50 Best Latin America Chef's Choice Award.
