The Elysian Whisky Bar
This Melbourne bar is serious about whisky, as its back bar of about 350 bottles attests to, and with ten new bottles added every week. It’s all about rare and unique bottlings here, making this a must-visit bar for whisky aficionados, who could do worse than start with one of the bar’s whisky flights. There’s plenty here for those not necessarily into whisky, starting with a cocktail offering that doesn’t take the same single-minded approach to spirits. There’s also a bar food menu created by chef Ryo Kitahara. The team behind the Elysian take inspiration from the whisky bars of Japan, hoping to evoke some of that country’s culture. With a soundtrack of jazz playing in the background, this Melbourne bar offers guests a casual, laidback experience accompanied by some exceptional spirits.
