Le Pré Catelan

Paris, France

On the outskirts of Paris, set within the Bois de Boulogne park you'll find a Napoleonic pavilion, which has served as one of the city's finest restaurants since 1856. The architectural flamboyance of the historic building has been tempered with bold and brilliant modern interior design: elaborate plaster friezes and vast leaded windows are paired with lush green velvet upholstery and black lacquered woodwork, and unexpectedly for a three-Michelin-Starred restaurant white tablecloths have been eschewed in favour of elegant glass tables. Chef Frédéric Anton has led the kitchen since 1997, gaining those three glittering Stars in his first decade and holding onto them ever since. He now serves a three-course lunch or a 13-course dinner menu showcasing the pinnacle of French haute cuisine, with dishes such as eggplant with caviar, avocado cream and curry or langoustine ravioli with duck foie gras and fine gold leaf jelly.
