Deessa

Madrid, Spain

The flagship restaurant of the Mandarin Oriental Ritz in Madrid, Deessa offers world-class Valencian cuisine befitting its palatial, Belle Époque home. Open since 2021, it is overseen by celebrated Spanish chef Quique Dacosta whose eponymous, three-Michelin-starred Alicante restaurant made him a household name in Spain. Set in the glorious Alfonso XIII room replete with marble floors, enormous crystal chandeliers and views out across the hotel’s verdant garden, the restaurant offers two tasting menus, “Historical” and “Contemporary”, available for lunch and dinner, with an abridged version, “The Essence”, also available. Fish and seafood dishes are of particular note, offering all the “beauty, sensuality and aromas” that Dacosta holds so dear. Note-perfect wine pairings come courtesy of head sommelier Silvia García from a wine list containing more than 250, mostly Spanish, labels.
