Gokan

Hong Kong, China

In what was once a storage facility for imported American ice, Gokan continues the spirit of trade with a vast menu of cocktails inspired by East-Asian flavours. As the first Hong-Kong-based venture from mixologist Shingo Gokan, the eponymously named bar also means “five senses” in Japanese. With alcoholic and zero-proof offerings across five flavour profiles, expect subversive takes across the menu, from the Sichuan-spiced Mapo Mary to the delicate Watermelon Koffeezz. The attention to detail also extends to its interior design: the bar features ice-inspired glass panels, soft lighting and dark wood accents juxtapose aesthetic minimalism with the warmth of Gokan’s team.
