‘Cancel your plans’ warns the signage in the window at this compact cocktail bar, set in Södermalm’s mainly-residential eastern reaches. Ignore it at your peril: it’s practically impossible to stop at just one drink, even with the best of intentions. Bartender Josephine Sondlo is behind some intriguing creations, like the clarified, carbonated Pink and Orange, inspired by a Sex on the Beach, or her famous Tomato Coffee – a smoky, beautifully-balanced drink that shouldn’t work but absolutely does. Friendly and often thronged, the space takes its style cues from the 80s; claim a stool at the retro, blue-tiled bar for a front-row view of the action and often-unconventional ingredients (lapsang cream soda, perhaps, or a hit of oxidised wine). Like the greatest neighbourhood bars, it’s cool without really trying, with a lo-fi charm and anything-goes vibe. ‘Come in pyjamas if you like!’, says co-owner Jack Parker, who built this place from scratch alongside Sondlo.
