Jungsik
New York, US
- No.35 North America's 50 Best Restaurants 2025
Clean, crisp lines are the order of the day for both the fit-out and the plating at this sleek contemporary Korean fine dining restaurant, which opened in 2011 in Tribeca. Led by owner Jung Sik Yim – who trained under NYC chef David Bouley – and executive chef Daeik Kim, the approach blends tradition with modern whimsy, resulting in a wholly innovative modern take on Korean cuisine. Amuse bouche such as tiny bulgogi sliders presented on white plinth-like sculptures are followed by tasting menus that showcase crispy octopus tentacle and innovative twists such as a sauce made of sabayon wine infused with kimchi. Wine pairings are offered in addition to an exciting alcohol-free beverage pairing, to ensure everyone at the table has delicious options. In 2024, Jungsik was awarded three Michelin stars, becoming the first Korean restaurant in the United States to do so.
