Le Coucou

New York, US

With his first restaurant on home soil, chef Daniel Rose brings the City of Light to the Big Apple. After graduating from the American University of Paris, Rose stayed on in France and turned his love of the local cuisine into a career, learning to cook at the Paul Bocuse Institute in Lyon and opening restaurants in Paris. At Le Coucou traditional dishes are given inventive edge with plates such as Bar noir pur Sud, gently steamed black bass, served in jus de bouillabaisse, tout le lapin (all of the rabbit) prepared three ways – a gourmet roulade, roasted with mustard sauce and cooked in a meat-and-vegetable stock. A simply beautiful candlelit dining room, it’s one of New York’s most romantic. This little slice of Paris remains one of the hottest tables in town.
