From the outside you could easily be in a Wes Anderson movie, so familiar is the mint-green facade and art-deco curves. But within, lies a more modern story. Poised in The Standard building on Copenhagen’s quayside, Studio majors in modern Scandinavian food with an international edge. Led by British chef Alan Bates, previously of Spain’s El Celler de Can Roca, England’s The Fat Duck and Denmark’s Henne Kirkeby Kro, menus follow a creative, light-but-intense philosophy. Representative plates include a pretty pea and mint tart, monkfish with sauce vierge and gooseberry pavlova. Mid-century furniture, clean lines and harbour views provide the backdrop.
