Pollen Street Social opened in 2011 and bagged a Michelin star the same year. The flagship restaurant of Jason Atherton’s 17-strong empire, its ethos is one of ‘deformalised fine dining’. A contemporary, hardwood-floored dining room is bolstered by a cocktail bar and a dessert station, where typically stylish guests can watch the pastry chefs in action. Creative bistro classics celebrate seasonal British produce – Dorset snails, Paignton Harbour crab, Lake District beef – and a superb by-the-glass drinks list includes 50 wines, sake, sweet, fortified and sparkling, available in 75ml, 125ml and 175ml measures.
